Dinosaur World Florida: A Magical Journey of Exploration

If you are looking for a fun and educational destination for your next family outing, far away from Miami shopping, Dinosaur World Florida in Plant City is your place! The prehistoric playground is filled with more than 150 life-sized dinosaurs that kids of all ages will love exploring. Plus, the knowledgeable staff provides informative and entertaining guided tours throughout the park.

At Dinosaur World, you can learn what it’s like to be a Paleontologist at the Exploration Cave Show. This hands-on activity lets you experience what it’s like to search for fossils in a realistic cave setting. You’ll also get to test your knowledge at the Triviasaurus Rex Game Show, where you can compete against others to see who knows the most about dinosaurs. With so many dinosaurs on display, Dinosaur World is the perfect place to explore your inner paleontologist.

At the Boneyard, put your paleontological fieldwork experience to the test and discover a real stegosaurus skeleton buried beneath the sand.

Dino Gem Excavation

Excavating for Dino Gems is one of the most popular activities at Dinosaur World. And it’s easy to see why – what kid doesn’t love uncovering hidden treasures and cracking your own geode with a geode cracker? Using a mining sluice, you can sift through sand and gravel to reveal brilliant gemstones in a rainbow of colors. And the best part is that you get to keep whatever you find! Dino Gem Excavation is the perfect activity for young paleontologists, and it’s sure to be a hit with the whole family.

Fossil Dig

The Fossil Dig is a great experience for kids of all ages. They get to dig for fossils in a specially stocked pit area that includes everything from shark teeth and gastropods to stingray barbs and Mosasaur teeth. They can select three of their favorites to take home.

The entire experience takes 15 minutes, and it’s a great way to learn about fossils and the history of the Earth.

One of the best memories my son will have from Florida’s Dinosaur World is the shark teeth he was able to bring home. One of them was made into a necklace and is now hanging around his neck.

Please note that due to COVID-19, the Fossil Dig is currently closed. Be sure to check out the official site for what’s currently available.

The Prehistoric Museum

Visit Dinosaur World for more than just a chance to see life-size replicas of your favorite prehistoric creatures. The Prehistoric Museum also includes a fascinating motion-activated display where some of the most popular dinosaurs come to life. This provides an opportunity to learn about how these amazing creatures lived and interacted with one another. While most people imagine the Tyrannosaurus Rex as a ferocious predator that stalked through woodlands on two legs, eating everything in sight, different dinosaurs were actually gentle herbivores. The Pterodactyls, meanwhile, was the first known creatures to fly. These interactive exhibits are sure to be a hit with both kids and adults alike, providing a fun and educational experience for all.

I love to travel and explore the world with my family. When I'm not traveling, time is usually spent enjoying time with my wife and kids at home, playing with the dogs, or roaming around with a camera.
