Santa Cruz de Tenerife is a bustling city with a rich culture and plenty of activities to keep visitors entertained. From the stunning beaches to the historic landmarks and museums, there is something for everyone in this vibrant city.

Playa de las Teresitas, Santa Cruz de Tenerife

Playa de las Teresitas, just north of Santa Cruz.

Santa Cruz de Tenerife has something for everyone when it comes to beaches. The city boasts a variety of stunning stretches of sand, ranging from the wide golden expanse of Playa de las Teresitas to the rugged Playa de las Gaviotas located in the breathtaking Anaga Mountains.

Playa de las Teresitas is an especially popular beach that extends for 1.5 kilometers. It is comprised of soft and inviting fine golden sand imported from the Sahara Desert and its waters are crystal clear, making it perfect for swimming. The beach is often lightly crowded, so visitors can enjoy some peace and quiet as they take in its beauty.

Meanwhile, those looking for something a bit more adventurous should check out Playa de las Gaviotas. This beach offers great surfing conditions with larger waves and plenty of rocks to practice agility on while paddling out. This rocky shoreline also makes it a great spot for snorkeling and diving, with plenty of unique marine life to explore just beneath the surface.

Whether you want an idyllic stretch of golden sands or an adventurous day at sea, these beaches provide locals and tourists alike with endless opportunities for fun in the sun!

Playa de las Teresitas is one of my personal favorites when it comes to beaches in Tenerife. Many beaches, primarily on the northern side of the island can be quite rocky, but this one isn’t and it’s a really unique beach on the island.
